Selecting the proper window treatment is key. You don’t want to add layers of fabric to your windows because the fabric will pull your focus back into the room. Horizontal and vertical blinds with smaller slats will modestly obstruct your view; however, they will provide privacy and directional lighting. If you choose a window treatment that can roll up into a headrail or can be raised when the sun isn’t directly in the window, you’ll reveal a complete view-through. Shades that roll completely into the headrail are generally referred to as roller shades. A traditional roller shade is a singular piece of fabric that will wrap around a roller when raised. These are beautiful options, but they’re not the only one. Honeycomb and pleated shades also offer complete view-through, as they stack neatly at the top of your window.
