With the holidays right around the corner, you might be looking for a new way to decorate this year. At Window Products serving Fairfield, CT, we’d like to share some simple, yet festive ideas.
Mantle
You can tack festive decorations to your mantle using fishing line. Choose from items like sparkly snowflakes, pinecones, or holiday cards, placing them at varying lengths above your mantle.
Doorway swag
Similarly, around your doorways, you can hang a long string of pinecones, which are easily found at garden centers and craft stores. It will be a natural-looking doorway swag and will bring an element of the winter wonderland to your indoor space.
Artwork
Wrap your framed artwork in stylish, high-quality wrapping paper that matches your theme. Choose which pieces to use carefully and in a pattern. For example, you can do all pieces that can be seen from your front windows, or you can focus just on those that are in the dining or living room.
Windows
Accent your window fashions using your windows. Go to a craft store to find holiday-themed sponge shapes such as snowflakes, snowmen, trees, and more. Add a teaspoon of liquid dish soap to acrylic craft paint (which will make clean-up easy when the season ends), and paint holiday decorations right on the glass.
Dress up your wreath
If you hang an evergreen wreath, you can add color to it by attaching small sparkly ornaments or metallic spray-painted pinecones.
Outside baskets
Get those hanging pots out of storage and dress them up for Christmas! Place decorative evergreen in their base, then use pinecones, plastic snowflakes, or any other outdoor-friendly holiday decoration to fill them the rest of the way. To go all out, decorate wire hanging baskets with spray paint and glitter.
