Outdoor Adjustable Awnings Provide Sun Protection
After a long winter, who wouldn’t want to spend more time outdoors! Retractable Awnings not only offer additional outdoor living space, but also offer excellent sun protection.
A couple living on Long Island Sound in the town of Old Saybrook called Window Products, Awning, Blind & Shade Company in Branford to help them decide on a new awning for their backyard. They had used them many times in the past for other projects and felt they could provide them with exactly what they were looking for.
Durasol® Elite Plus Retractable Awning
After listening to what the homeowners wanted to achieve in an awning, it was decided that a motorized 28’ x 13’ 5” projection Durasol Elite Plus Retractable Awning would fit the bill. Sunbrella® Heather Beige Classic 4954-000 made of 100% acrylic fabric was selected for the awning.
Remote Control Motorized Awning
For added convenience, the couple elected to have their awning motorized and operated by a handheld remote control. The remote works anywhere on the client’s property, inside or out. This project did require an electrician, as the motor has an 18’ cord that is plugged in an outlet around the corner.
For added protection, the motor has a manual override that will allow the awning to be cranked back in and out if there is a power outage or if there is an issue with the motor.
Awning & Fabric Warranties
Although, no one ever expects to have a problem with their new awnings, warranties are very important.
- The awning and frame have a limited lifetime warrantee
- The motor has a five-year warrantee
- The Sunbrella® fabric comes with a ten year warrantee
- To go the extra mile, Window Products offers a one-year warrantee on any labor charges too.
Needless to say, the client was thrilled with their new awning and now enjoys entertaining friends and family outside. They are especially thankful they opted for the remote control feature because of how convenient it is.
