Honeycomb shades are versatile and can fit with a variety of styles. They are available in 3/8”, ¾” and 1¼” widths and come in hundreds of colors and textures. Plus, they can be used either in horizontal or vertical applications. The original was horizontal, and people loved their shades so much, they requested that Hunter Douglas create a solution that would allow them to coordinate their larger openings, such as sliding and patio doors, with their other window treatments. Hunter Douglas complied, designing Vertiglide™, with vertical honeycomb fabric and a single headrail track. Also great as a room divider, Vertiglide tucks in neatly—regardless how big the opening is, when totally open, the stacking is only 5”.

Energy Efficiency

Because you can lose up to 50% of your home’s heating and cooling energy out the window, it’s important to have great window treatments to help cut those costs. The honeycomb shade is one of the best products on the market for energy efficiency. Its design allows it to trap cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. It comes in single, double, or triple cell size for greater energy efficiency, with opacities from sheer, semi-sheer, and opaque, to semi-opaque and blackout.

The shade provides privacy when lowered, giving the space a softer feeling. Its backing is white to the outside, providing great curb appeal and allowing the option of having different color shades on the inside without a patchwork feel from the outside. Operating options include retractable cord, cordless, and remote control for child and pet safety.
