At Window Products here in Branford, we know that many of our customers don’t get good sleep. Often, it’s because they don’t have the right window treatment for their bedroom. Because we know how important a restful night of sleep is, we want to help all of our clients find just the right product. If you’ve been looking to upgrade your sleep experience, speak with one of our consultants about the best window treatment for your bedroom haven.

Darkness Preference

Did you know that 73% of all Americans prefer a totally dark room to get a good night’s sleep? Unfortunately, that might not always happen. How much light would you prefer to have come in through your window in the morning? Every Hunter Douglas window covering provides some measure of light control, depending on the fabric and color you select, light gaps, seams, and rout holes. Keep in mind that window shades and blinds cannot completely eliminate incoming light as there are inherently slight light gaps.

Blocking Light

To block light and achieve total darkness, look for a window covering that has “true” blackout materials in the collection, and consider mounting your window fashions on the outside of your window frame to minimize the light gap. For wood and aluminum blinds, ask for the de-Light™ feature, which eliminates the rout holes. Great options include Modern Precious Metals® Aluminum Blinds or wood blinds with de-Light™, roller shades, or Duette® Honeycomb Shades—both horizontal and vertical applications.

Room-Darkening Options

Duette® Architella® Honeycomb Shades

Maybe a semi-opaque or opaque fabric that allows muted light to enter the room is to your liking. If you select one of these fabrics, they do a good job darkening a room, but do not entirely eliminate light. Great options that offer room-darkening materials include Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Pirouette® Window Shadings, or Silhouette® Window Shadings. You can also add a liner that is available on many of our shades, including Provenance® Woven Woods, designer roller shades, or Silhouette® Window Fashions. Shutters are another great option.
